Niaz Ghasemi
Hi, I'm Niaz.
I am a Computer Engineering postgraduate passionate about Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, and Real-Time Detection Systems.
My research focuses on lightweight YOLOv5 object detection, synthetic dataset generation, and tennis ball collision prediction systems.
I enjoy building efficient AI systems that solve real-world problems with real-time performance.
My goal is to contribute to advanced AI research and continue growing in Computer Vision and intelligent systems development.
Beyond academia, I have worked as a Software and Web Developer Engineer at Holoo Accounting Software, where I customized ERP modules, optimized SQL workflows, and delivered client-facing web solutions. That experience taught me how to bridge cutting-edge AI research with practical, business-ready software engineering, ensuring that intelligent systems don't just work in theory, but deliver value in production environments.
I also designed and implemented an ESP32-based IoT motion detection security system integrated with the Telegram API, combining embedded C++, hardware sensors, and real-time cloud alerts into a fully functional security solution. This project reflects my curiosity for hardware-software integration and edge intelligence, and it sharpened my skills in real-time systems, wireless communication, and end-to-end problem solving.
Earlier, as a Hardware and Network Intern at City of Sun International Exhibition, I gained hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, network configuration, and system troubleshooting. That role grounded me in the fundamentals of systems architecture from cabling and routing to diagnosing complex hardware failures under pressure. Complementing that, my work as a private French and English tutor developed strong communication skills, adaptability, and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly, abilities that serve me well in cross-disciplinary teams, technical presentations, and client interactions.
Beyond these roles, I continuously invest in my professional growth. I hold certifications in Python Programming, Network+ Fundamentals, Website Design (HTML/CSS), and Intermediate SQL Server. I actively follow developments in model optimization, edge AI, and real-time video analytics.
I have also worked extensively with Drupal and GNU ecosystems, leveraging Drupal's powerful content management framework to build flexible, secure web solutions, and embracing GNU philosophies and tools that emphasize open-source collaboration, transparency, and software freedom. This background has strengthened my commitment to building accessible, maintainable, and community-driven technology.
I also maintain a strong command of tools like Git, Linux, Google Colab, and UML, enabling me to collaborate effectively across the entire development lifecycle.
What sets me apart is not just technical breadth, but a mindset. I approach every problem with analytical thinking, fast iteration, and a relentless focus on real-world impact. Whether I'm annotating a dataset, tuning a YOLO model, writing clean SQL, or configuring a Drupal module under GNU principles, I bring the same level of care and curiosity.
My goal is straightforward: to contribute to advanced AI research, grow continuously in computer vision and intelligent systems, and build technology that performs reliably in the real world. I am driven by curiosity, precision, and the desire to create impact whether through a faster detection model, a smarter embedded system, a well-architected CMS, or a cleaner line of code. I am equally comfortable working independently or within collaborative, agile teams, and I thrive in environments that challenge me to learn something new every day.
